I’m Sarah Sinclair, a passionate and dedicated speech pathologist with a strong background in early childhood education and extensive experience in supporting children with communication challenges. With a Diploma in Childcare and a Bachelor of Speech Pathology, I understand the vital role early intervention plays in a child’s development.
My journey began in early childhood education, where I recognised the importance of fostering communication skills from a young age. I have also worked as an ESDM therapist and ABA therapist, specialising in supporting autistic children. This experience has deepened my commitment to helping children reach their full potential through tailored interventions.
I am a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist and a proud member of Speech Pathology Australia. Further training I have completed include:
I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to communicate effectively and confidently. My approach is personalised and collaborative, ensuring that both children and their families feel supported throughout the therapy process.
I look forward to helping your child thrive in their communication journey!
We assess and treat difficulties related to speech sounds, helping children articulate clearly and improve their pronunciation. Our techniques encourage proper sound production and enhance overall speech intelligibility.
We focus on enhancing children’s understanding of language. This includes following directions, comprehending questions, and grasping the meaning of words and sentences, ensuring they can effectively process and respond to verbal communication.
Our services support children in developing their ability to express thoughts, ideas, and feelings. Through engaging activities and strategies, we help children expand their vocabulary, construct sentences, and improve their overall communication abilities.
For children who face challenges with verbal communication, we provide AAC options, including low-tech (e.g. Key Word Sign) and high-tech (e.g. speech generating device) communication systems. We guide families in selecting and implementing the most appropriate tools to support their child’s communication needs.
Our services also include targeted interventions for phonological awareness, crucial for literacy development. We work on skills such as rhyming, syllable segmentation, and sound manipulation, helping children become confident readers and writers.
We assist children in developing essential literacy skills, including reading and writing. Our approach fosters phonemic awareness, reading accuracy, and spelling abilities, laying a strong foundation for academic success.
At Golden Paediatric Therapy, we are dedicated to creating a supportive and encouraging environment for children and their families. Our evidence-based approaches and personalised programs are designed to make communication accessible and enjoyable for every child.
We offer mobile services at your child’s preschool, school, or home environment, ensuring that therapy takes place in a familiar setting. Here’s how the process works:
Your journey begins with an initial assessment, where we take the time to understand your child’s unique communication needs. During this session, we gather information through interviews, standardised assessments, and observations to create a comprehensive profile of your child’s strengths and challenges.
Following the assessment, we compile a comprehensive assessment report that outlines our findings. This report includes insights into your child’s communication abilities and serves as a foundation for the next steps in their therapy journey.
Following the assessment, we collaborate with you to establish personalised goals for your child’s speech and language development. These goals are tailored to your child’s individual needs and aspirations, ensuring a focused approach to therapy.
Once goals are set, we conduct regular therapy sessions during school terms, conveniently at your child’s preschool, school, or home. Our engaging, evidence-based interventions aim to build your child’s communication skills in a comfortable environment. We make each session fun and interactive, addressing the specific goals established. Additionally, we provide homework to reinforce skills learned in therapy, allowing practice in a supportive way at home.
Throughout the therapy process, we conduct regular reviews to monitor your child’s progress and adjust goals as needed. These reviews ensure that therapy remains effective and aligned with your child’s evolving needs. We encourage open communication with families to discuss progress and any concerns.
Signs that your child may benefit from speech therapy include difficulty pronouncing words, challenges in understanding or using language, trouble following directions, or delays in speech and language development. If you have concerns, we recommend you contact us to discuss this further and determine if an initial assessment is recommended.
You may like to pay for therapy through NDIS self-managed, NDIS plan-managed, or pay privately. If you are a privately paying client, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates.
An initial assessment is recommended to determine where your child's skills currently are, this will allow your therapist to create appropriate therapy goals moving forwards. Unless your child has had a recent in-depth assessment elsewhere, one will be completed prior to commencing therapy.
The initial report is essential as it documents the findings from your child’s assessment, providing a comprehensive overview of their communication strengths and challenges. This helps us identify specific areas of need and set targeted therapy goals, ensuring focused and effective intervention. With your consent, the report can be shared with other professionals involved in your child’s care to promote collaboration. You will typically receive the report within a few days to a week following the assessment, and it is included in the assessment fee.
Therapy sessions typically last 45 minutes and are held weekly during school terms. We can provide services at your child’s preschool, school, or home to ensure comfort and convenience. We allow 30 minute or 1 hour therapy sessions in certain circumstances.
Absolutely! We provide regular reviews to monitor your child’s progress and adjust goals as needed. We also encourage ongoing communication with families to discuss achievements and any concerns.
